Fergus Jones is a Scottish artist based in Copenhagen. A producer and DJ, he has been described by Boomkat as “one of the leading hyper-connectors of the contemporary underground.”
He is the founder of the label and event series FELT, a platform that has released works by artists such as Civilistjävel! and Carrier.
Previously known under the alias Perko, in 2024 he released his debut album Ephemera on Numbers — a project born from a strong collaborative dimension and created together with a network of like-minded musicians, vocalists, and producers, including Huerco S, James K, Koreless, Birthmark, ELDON, Withdrawn, Laila Sakini, and Lia T. The album appeared in numerous “best of 2024” lists from outlets such as The Quietus, Phonica, Gorilla vs. Bear, and First Floor. Pitchfork’s Philip Sherburne described “Heima” as the best trip-hop track of the year, while Resident Advisor called the record “a masterful storm of trip-hop, dub, and downtempo.”
Ephemera follows a series of releases under the Perko alias: NV Auto (2018), The City Rings (2020), and Prang (2023), the latter included among Resident Advisor’s tracks of the year, alongside Galerie, released in 2020 on the Danish label Posh Isolation.
Widely respected for his productions, live sets, and DJ performances, Jones has contributed mixes to iconic series such as FACT and Truants, and is a frequent guest on radio platforms like NTS, Rinse, and The Lot. Over the years he has performed in Australia, China, and Japan, as well as in clubs and venues worldwide including Tresor in Berlin, Ormside Projects in London, Nitsa in Barcelona, Glasgow, and his adopted home city of Copenhagen.
